What We Like About The Schwinn 470 Elliptical Machine

The Schwinn 470 Elliptical Machine is one of the better high end elliptical machines out there, especially for the reasonable price which it comes in at. So, why do we like it as much as we do?

One of the things that we really like about the Schwinn 470 Elliptical Machine is that the incline can be adjusted to various positions. There are 6 levels of incline which you can adjust this elliptical to, which is great for providing you with the level of difficulty you need for a good cardio workout. The incline can be changed with the display, which is something that we do like. In other words, the incline can be changed with the motorized feature.

Something else that stands out about the Schwinn 470 Elliptical Machine is that it has 25 levels of magnetic resistance. The high inertia perimeter flywheel keeps things smooth and quiet, and adjustments can be quickly made with the console. We really like this kind of resistance because of its reliability, as well as the fact that it is really quiet and smooth.

Another thing that you will like about the Schwinn 470 Elliptical Machine is that it comes with 29 different workout programs as well as 4 user profiles. It comes with 12 profile programs, 9 heart rate control programs, 2 fitness test programs, and 4 user defined custom programs. This all takes place on the large dual track LCD display with backlighting. This display informs you of 13 different fitness aspects such as time, distance, speed, calories burned, and more.

Yet another thing that makes the Schwinn 470 Elliptical Machine a good option to go with is that it has a 3-speed fan to keep you cool while you work out. Even better is that the Schwinn 470 Elliptical Machine comes with MP3 compatibility so you can hook up your music player and play it through the integrated high-quality speakers.

The next thing that we like about the Schwinn 470 Elliptical Machine is that it comes with dual function handlebars. One pair of handlebars is static and comes with heartbeat sensors for cardio monitoring. The other pair of handlebars are motion handlebars which have the ability to provide you with a good upper body workout. The handlebars are ergonomically designed to be as comfortable as possible. This is also true in terms of the oversized and non-slip foot plates, which are ergonomically designed for comfort.

What We Don’t Like About The Schwinn 470 Elliptical Machine

There are a couple of things which we don’t particularly like about the Schwinn 470 Elliptical Machine, but they are not big issues, so let’s just cover them quickly.

While the user weight capacity of the Schwinn 470 Elliptical Machine is 300 pounds, this is not quite as good as with some of the other higher end models out there.

This is not really a major point, but the Schwinn 470 Elliptical Trainer is fairly big and heavy, which makes assembly and moving it around pretty difficult. It is not too big for a high end model, but the size will put a strain on any small room.

Alternatives To The Schwinn 470 Elliptical Machine

So you have a decent point of comparison, let’s look at a couple of other high end elliptical machine models which you could purchase.

Sole E35 Elliptical Trainer

The Sole E35 is a fantastic choice to go with for many reasons. When compared to the Schwinn 470, it has more incline adjustments, adjustable foot pedals, and is just tougher overall. That being said, the Sole E35 Elliptical Trainer is much more expensive than the Schwinn 470, but it does have many features that probably make it the superior model. However, the Schwinn 470 does have a better LCD display system with more built-in user programs, it is a little lighter and more compact, and does actually have more resistance levels too.

Sole E95 Elliptical Trainer

The Schwinn 470 Elliptical Machine does have some more resistance levels, a better LCD display, more user programs, and is way more compact than the Sole E95 Elliptical Trainer, plus it also costs far less. On the other hand, the Sole E95 Elliptical Trainer has quite a few features which the Schwinn 470 simply does not have. Adjustable foot pedals, many levels of inclines, and much more are all things which the Schwinn 470 does not have, which is fairly reflected in its price.

Final Thoughts On The Schwinn 470 Elliptical Trainer

The Schwinn 470 Elliptical Trainer is a nice high end model, one of the cheaper ones in fact. Even though it is an affordable high end model, it still does everything you would expect a good elliptical to do. Various incline positions, a great LCD display, lots of resistance levels, and more all make this a fantastic option to consider.
